American Heart Association hosts membership event for Circle of Red leadership group
DAVENPORT, Iowa (October 10, 2011) The American Heart Association will host a Circle of Red wine and cheese reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, at The Club Davenport Room at the Hotel Blackhawk, 200 E. 3rd St., Davenport. Circle of Red is a leadership group for both women and men who are passionate about bringing awareness to heart disease as the No. 1 killer of women.
Sponsored by Integrity Integrated, the evening will feature personal stories from those impacted by heart disease and information about how to support efforts to combat it in the Quad-Cities. Free hors d’ouevres and wine will be served.
According to the American Heart Association, an estimated 82.6 million American adults have one or more types of cardiovascular disease,
including stroke. About 40.4 million of them are 60 or younger. Cardiovascular disease accounts for one of every three deaths, more than the next three causes of death combined.
