2nd Annual YP Community Impact Awards Recipients and Finalists
The awards will be presented at the second annual awards event at 5:30 p.m. May 3 at the Figge Art Museum in downtown Davenport. In addition, the winner of the 2012 Best Place to Work will be revealed.
The awards ceremony will wrap up The Network’s Symposium, a day-long event for young professionals. It begins at noon at the Hotel Blackhawk, Davenport.
This year’s YP Community Impact winners:
– 2012 YP of the Year: Chelsea Hillman, Integrity Integrated.
– 2012 Innovation Award: Mississippi River Distilling Co.
– 2012 Livability Award: Front Door Iowa
– 2012 Vitality Award: River Action
– 2012 Next-Gen Engagement Award: Quad-City Animal Welfare Center
– 2012 Life Long Learning Award: Figge Art Museum
– 2012 Hot Spots Awards: WQPT Quad-Cities PBS Brew Ha Ha and Moline Centre
– 2012 Multi-modal Award: MetroLINK
The three finalists for the 2012 Best Place to Work are Bush Construction, Mindfire Communications and Shive-Hattery.
Anne Spoden, director of The Network, said the symposium will begin with the keynote speaker, Matt Mattson, of Fired Up Productions, who will present a program on Social Excellence.
The event also will include breakout sessions, a café-style discussion and a mobile classroom on The Loop. Representatives from the Quad-Cities Chamber of Commerce and the Quad-Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau will discuss attractions along the route.
The symposium, now in its second year, also will celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Network.
The symposium is open to all young professionals. Participants do not have to members of The Network or the Quad-City chamber. The cost is $65 for members and $75 for non-members. The awards ceremony is free.
