Nominations Being Accepted for 2012 ATHENA Awards®
ROCK ISLAND, Illinois (January 4, 2012)
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 ATHENA Awards®, scheduled for April 12, 2012, noon, at Jumer’s Casino & Hotel, Rock Island. Presented in affiliation with Athena International by the Women’s Connection and the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, the awards will honor outstanding female leaders in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. Missman Inc. is the title sponsor of the 2012 ATHENA Awards, with additional sponsorship from Integrity Integrated, Ruhl & Ruhl REALTORS, Quad-City Times and MediaWork Productions. The nomination deadline is January 23, 2012.
The mission of Athena International is “to support, develop and honor women leaders; to inspire women to achieve their full potential; and to create balance in leadership worldwide.” The mission of the ATHENA Award program is to elevate and honor those women who are setting a gold standard in their business and community leadership, and who are helping to bring along the next generation of women leaders.
Since 1982, 6,000 ATHENA Awards and Global ATHENA Leadership Awards have been presented by Athena International in more than 500 communities in the United States, Canada, Russia, China, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
Honorees for the 2012 ATHENA Awards will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Nominee demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in her business or profession
- Nominee provides valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community
- Nominee actively assists women in realizing their full leadership potential
